Things I Love Thursday

I’ve seen various other blogs do this sort of thing, so I decided that I wanted to start doing it, too!

Oh, the Times and Places You'll Go (by Dr. Who)

Cupcake cars!

Victorian costumes = AWESOME

Nooks in Kids' Rooms

I love this dress!

Other things I love:

• when my dogs violently burrow their heads against me • the new Owl City album •

• going grocery shopping with my parents • roleplaying on NaNoWriMo • getting ready for Jubilee •

• when my dogs sit and watch me practice my guitar • buying pretty new notebooks •

• the smell of rain • practicing Owl City songs on the piano • going to Half-Price books •

• reading Adam Young’s Twitter • crocheting Amigurumi dolls • learning random Japanese phrases •

• building blanket forts with Lissie • straightening my hair for stake dances (like for tonight!) •

• sitting around in my PJs, watching movies with my mom •

That was actually pretty fun, thinking up that list…

Soon.

Tomorrow morning, I’m going to get up, do my chores, clean my room, and then my best friend is going to come over around lunchtime. We’ll spend a couple hours getting ready, and then…

Jubilee begins.

Right now, the feeling that I have is insane. It’s like I’m at the very tip of a rollercoaster – I have that same feeling of elation just as the rollercoaster goes over the edge. Whenever I think about it, excitement rushes through me, and I find myself giddy. I had a hard time going to sleep last night, just laying in bed, thinking about it. I can’t wait to see how much fun I have, how many new friends I make, and if I manage to horribly embarrass myself at any point. I hope not. I can totally see myself face-planting, especially seeing as I’m going to be one of the first ones onstage.

Well, best of luck to me, and especially to my Jubilant friends participating as well.

… And may the odds be ever in your favor!

(yes, the Hunger Games reference was necessary.)

Pooh’s Tues.

I’ve decided that to make blogging easier, but more consistent for me, I’ve decided to have specific days where I post specific things. Then, on the other days, I can post whatever I want, or nothing at all.

So, for Tuesday’s scheduled posts, I present the segments ‘Pooh’s Tues.’ (yes, I’m aware that doesn’t work if you actually count what ‘Tues’ is abbreviating xD).

I happen to love Winnie the Pooh. I don’t care that I’m almost 15. How does my age make something else less awesome? I’ll answer for you – it doesn’t!

So, every Tuesday, I will share a quote from Winnie the Pooh. When I was little, I received a book entitled ‘Pooh’s Little Instruction Book’ that has a lot of thoughts, quotes, and advice from Pooh and his friends. A lot of my quotes will be from it.

Awesome.

I love how nonsensical, amusing, yet wise Pooh can be, all at the same time. As I got older and continued to read the books, I realized that the entire world that they live in his actually very normal, but seen with the eyes of a child. The Hundred Acre Wood? I didn’t know what an acre was, so I just assumed it was some sort of nonsensical name. Now, I get it! So much stuff in it is like that, that it’s almost more fun to read it now than it was before…

So, here is our quote for the day:

“You can’t help respecting anybody who can spell Tuesday, even if he doesn’t spell it right.”
